Problem is, some of us feel like we should have known... We thought we saw something once before and feel like we should have spoken up then and saved some pain now. But we were all young, we were all stupid, and we never thought twice about it. Sure wish we had now...
I don't know that it would have made a difference if you'd spoken up then. One conversation doesn't fix a lifetime of pain. Jenn let you see what you wanted to see, that she was happy and carefree. You can't blame yourself or play the "what if" game. Jenn was the only person who could help Jenn, and this was the only way she thought she could. It's very sad, and will take some time to overcome, but you will. Life will go on. If there must be a lesson from this, it's to never give up and live life to the fullest because it means something....You mean something.
So sad and something I see and hear every day. It never gets easier, but hopefully, where ever she is, there is no pain, no guilt, no grief and no more sadness. Peace Jennifer....
